The real Italian taste of cappola and why our prosciutto cotto isn't cooked ham.

The name 'Italia' comes from 'Itali', the ancient people who lived in what is now the region of Abruzzo, the birthplace of the Cappola name. So there is no one more Italian than an Abruzzese.

Nor is there a taste more authentic than prosciutto cotto (Proh-shoot-oh coh-toh). Literally translated, this means "cooked ham', but the taste could never be translated into English. The first thing you will notice is that prosciutto cotto di Cappola retains the shape of a whole ham, a testament to the honesty and simplicity of its preparation.

But its distinct taste comes from the delicate balance of traditional spices and herbs that are used in cooking. (The exact blend of spices is a secret the Cappola family guards jealously!)

What is not secret is that this prosciutto cotto has an unmistakable savouriness that brings an Italian flare to even a simple sandwich and will add excitement and authenticity to any dish.
